Invitation for Proficient Enumerators: Join a Countrywide Initiative for a Data Collection Education Project in Belize

As a pivotal component of a project focused on education and in collaboration with the Government of Belize, ARCH Consulting is actively seeking experienced enumerators to join its project team. Successful candidates will be responsible for conducting on-site visits to gather both qualitative and quantitative data in teams of two (2) enumerators throughout the country of Belize. Each team will be assigned designated areas in which to collect data between January and March 2024.

ARCH Consulting Group Ltd. is an international cooperation and development consulting firm based in Belize City, Belize, with a presence in Mexico and the USA. The firm specializes in proviging technical delivery, research, and project management services for public development projects in Latin America and the Caribbean region.


Responsibilities include:


  • Conducting quantitative and qualitative data collection in designated areas within Belize

  • Conducting interviews and assisting individuals in accurately completing survey forms accurately, leveraging your experience in data collection

  • Interacting with people to help interpret the survey form, answer questions, and ensure clarity and accuracy

  • Updating or correcting any discrepancies in existing data

  • Double-checking information on survey forms to guarantee the accuracy of the information gathered

  • Identifying and reporting any issues in obtaining valid data

  • Keeping the supervisor informed of completed assignments and progress


The duration and workload of each mission will vary from one (1) to two (2) weeks. Enumerators will receive an independent contractor agreement specifying the mission's duration and hours worked, with payment made upon completion of the assigned tasks. Additionally, surveyors will receive a stipend to cover daily expenses, including transportation and lunch.


Compensation is competitive and will be commensurate with the surveyor's level of experience. It is important to note that this position is not an employment opportunity.


Qualifications:


ARCH is actively seeking surveyors with the following qualifications:


  • Education: Minimum of an Associate degree or at least three years experience conducting data collection work

  • Strong Experience in Data Collection: Prior experience in a data collection role is mandatory

  • Experience in the Education Field: Previous involvement in data collection within the education sector is highly desirable

  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Must be able to work flexible hours, adapting to varying schedules, and under pressure

  • Language Skills: Fluent and good command of English language

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in working with tablets

  • Professional Attitude: Serious and motivated individuals with strong communication and organizational skills

  • Must be 18 years or older

How This Works


Pre-selected candidates will be invited to participated in an online interview. If chosen, they will receive additional details about the work, including the work schedule. Enumerators have the option to conduct surveys within their district or travel to other districts based on project requirements. Enumerators will be working in teams of two (2), under the supervision of the Research Coordinator and Assistant. Comprehensive in-class and on-site training will be provided in January, along with the necessary data collection equipment, questionnaires, and guidelines.
